Alloy structural steels, such as 20CrMnTi, 40Cr, 35CrMo, have
hardness of heat treatment above HRC50 and good comprehensive
mechanical properties. The ring die made of these materials has
high strength and good wear resistance, but its shortcoming is poor
corrosion resistance. Stainless steel materials are X46Cr13 (German
brand), 4Cr13, 3Cr13, etc. These materials are rigid. The hardness
of heat treatment is higher than HRC50, and it has good wear
resistance and corrosion resistance. It has a long service life.

2.Compression Ratio of Ring Die
The ring die compression ratio refers to the ratio of the effective
length of the ring die hole to the minimum diameter of the ring die
hole. It is an index reflecting the extrusion strength of pellet
feed. The bigger the compression ratio is, the stronger the pellet
feed is. But not mean the higher ratio is ,the better it is .
Compression ratio should be calculated based on raw material for
making pellets and type of feed.

Ring Die Maintenance:
1. When the ring die is not used for a period of time, the original
material should be extruded with non-corrosive oil. Otherwise, the
heat of the ring die feeding originally left in the die hole, thus
producing the following situation:·
When starting the operation, the die hole is blocked and the
material is not discharged;·
When starting production, the ring mold is subjected to high stress
and weakens its strength, which may cause ring mold cracking;· Part
of the die hole is blocked, the output is reduced, and the benefit
2. When loading and unloading the ring die, do not hit the ring die
working surface with a hard steel tool such as a hammer.
3. The record of each shift of the ring dieshould be done in order
to accurately calculate the actual service life of the ring mold.
4. The ring die must be stored in a dry and clean place. If it is
stored in a damp place, it will cause die hole corrosion, which
will reduce the service life of the ring mold or not discharge.
